Have you ever experienced a time where the result was not what it seemed/what you expected?

JOURNAL ENTRY 3/11/19:

One time things were not what they seem was when I started freshman year of high school. Having an older sister allowed me to get a glimpse of what high school may be like before I experienced it. When my sister started high school, she had a lot of homework and did not have a lot of time to hangs out with her friends outside of school. This gave me a preconceived notion that high school was going to be very difficult. However, in the beginning of ninth grade, I was surprised to see that the workload was manageable and it was not as hard as I imagined. I was able to manage my time well and complete all of my assignments on time as well as maintain good grades. Although there was more pressure and finals were stressful, I was happy that high school was not as hard as I expected it to be.
